Jubilate Deo! On Saturday, June 16th, we had the grace of celebrating the religious lives of 16 jubilarians! These Sisters, who have given 25, 40, 50, 60 and 75 years of their lives in the service of Jesus and the Church, were given the grace of the jubilee year at a special mass offered by our Bishop John D'Arcy.

A Warm Welcome
The Sisters greet our dear bishop minutes before the ceremony. Bishop D'Arcy is himself celebrating his golden jubilee, 50 years as a priest of Jesus Christ! Here, he hugs Sister Jane Marie who is also a golden Jubilarian. |
60 Years
The Bishop greets Sister M. JoEllen (right) and Sister M. Julitta (left) who have both dedicated 60 years of their lives at the feet of Jesus our spouse! |

Lift Up Your Voice Rejoice!
There were 13 priests (including our bishop) who concelebrated mass for the Sisters. Each of these priests have influenced the life and vocation of our Sister jubilarians. Some of these men were taught and spiritually formed by the Sisters! Here they sing our opening Hymn Lift Up Your Voice Rejoice! a song written in honor of the 150 jubilee of our diocese. |
Homily
Bishop D'Arcy delivered a beautiful homily, meditating on the profound call of religious to live at the feet of Christ as Mary of Bethany did in the Gospel. At the feet of Christ we must contemplate him daily, bathing his pierced feet with fragrant oils of gladness. |

Renewal of Vows
During the ceremony, the Sisters solemnly ask for the gift of Jubilee, forgiveness of sins and the grace to be ever more faithful to their call. They also solemnly renew their religious vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. |
A Nice Meal
After mass, the Jubilarians, Sisters and priests enjoy a wonderful meal together. Here, Sister James Agnes, 50 years professed, enjoys a moment of laughter. |

Golden Jubilarians
Because 50 is such a biblical number (see Leviticus 25) it is the most special of all the jubilees. Here, our golden jubilarians pose for a quick photo. |
The Sisters and Their Spiritual Father
It's a tradition! Every year the Sister jubilarians gather around our spiritual father, Bishop D'Arcy, for a full group photo. |
