Easter Triduum  Starting with a few pictures from Good Friday (on which we had snow this year instead of the usual rain) and on into the preparations for celebrating the Easter Vigil. Christ is Risen, Alleluia! Rejoice, O Mother Church! Exult in glory! The risen Savior shines upon you!

Sr M Clare gazes at our Lord on the cross.
This crucifix was out for repair and repainting and returned just in time for Good Friday.
Sr M Lois venerates a relic of the true cross on Good Friday. After the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Thursday, the altar is stripped, the tabernacle is empty and we await in solemn silence for Our Lord to return.

Sr M Helene, our sacristan, had the Easter flowers ready for placement on Holy Saturday in preparation for the Easter Vigil.
Sr M Madeleine, a first year novice, helps to place the flowers around the empty tabernacle. All the physical preparations are mirrored in our hearts as we long for our Masters return.

Preparations on Holy Saturday continue in the sister's dining room.  Sr Anna Marie and Jenny arrange the table settings....
while Sr. M Delrose helps arrange the flowers for the center pieces.

And let's not forget the food.  (l to r) Sr M Charita, Sr M Helen, Sr M Andrew and Sr M Veronica (a 2nd year novice) are mixing up pies and sweet rolls for Easter Day.

(left) Easter Vigil begins with the Service of Light.
(rt) Proceeding up the aisle, Fr Jim chants "Light of Christ" and we respond, "Thanks be to God"

–Working with the blest palms from palm Sunday–
The sisters weave the palms into different shapes to be placed behind crosses and holy pictures on the walls.
