Many of our Sisters were blessed to travel to Washington D.C. and Philadelphia during the Papal Visit of Pope Francis to the United States.
The novices have the opportunity to meet novices from other religious congregations of the CMSWR who also made the trip to Washington D.C. to attend the Canonization Mass of Junipero Serra.
The novices wait amidst a long line of people waiting to enter the campus of Catholic University of America, where later that day they would attend the Canonization Mass of Junipero Serra.
Once the Sisters made it through the long security lines, they entered the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception where they awaited the arrival of Pope Francis. The Sisters were joined by some Seminarians from the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.
After much anticipation, the Sisters finally caught a glimpse of Pope Francis as he walked through the Basilica on his way to celebrate Mass.
After the Canonization Mass the Sisters had the opportunity to meet Cardinal O'Malley of Boston.
Once the Sisters arrived in Philadelphia they had the opportunity to take public trains into the city.
The Sisters make their way to the Festival of Families where they were able to greet Pope Francis as he drove past them.
The Sisters are excited to have finally made it to the location of the Festival of Families in Philadelphia.
Sisters wear their tickets which allowed them to enter the standing section during the Festival of Families.
