There is something so special about waking up in the middle of the night to spend time with Jesus. I was so excited to participate in perpetual adoration, the charism of our community. As I was sitting before Jesus in the Eucharist during my first night hour of adoration, I was thinking about how exciting it all was: keeping vigil during the night with Jesus while the rest of the world was sleeping; giving Jesus all the intentions that have been entrusted to our care; and talking with Him in the quiet of the night. Then, it hit me- God does not sleep. The King of the Universe is always keeping vigil for us. His abiding presence is concretely known as I gaze upon Him in the Eucharist in the middle of the night.
